Sweden reached the final of the World Junior Hockey Championships with a 2-1 overtime victory against Russia on Friday. Mikael Backlund scored the winner 6:18 into overtime. Russia took the lead when Nikita Filatov opened the scoring in the second period. Sweden tied it when Robin Figren scored on a power play with 8:10 left. On Saturday, Sweden will face either three-time defending champion Canada or the United States, who played later Friday. Russia will take on the losing team for the bronze.
