Rangers President and GM Glen Sather announced today that Dan Girardi underwent a bursa excision on his ankle and Marc Staal had a bone chip removed from his ankle. Both players are expected to be fully recovered prior to the start of training camp. The surgeries were performed yesterday by Dr. David Levine at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

Girardi, 31, skated in all 82 regular season games with the Rangers in 2014-15, registering four goals and 16 assists for 20 points.

Staal, 28, skated in 80 regular season games with the Rangers in 2014-15, registering five goals and 15 assists for 20 points.
