Canucks forward Mikael Samuelsson is out indefinitely after having surgery to repair an adductor tendon and a sports hernia.
The injury had nagged Samuelsson all season and he hadn't played since aggravating it in Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals against Nashville on May 7.
Vancouver general manager Mike Gillis said in a statement that the team consulted with doctors and they advised that immediate surgery was the "best long-term decision" for Samuelsson.
