Hockey Canada announced that Blue Jackets left wing Rick Nash has been named captain for Team Canada at the 2011 IIHF World Championships, which will take place April 29-May 15 in Bratislava and Kosice, Slovakia. Nash, 26, is a five-time NHL All-Star who led the Blue Jackets in scoring with 32-34-66 in 75 games this season. The Brampton, Ontario native is a Team Canada veteran having represented his country at the 2010 and 2006 Olympic Games, the 2008, 2007 and 2005 World Championships and 2002 World Junior Championships. He won gold medals at the 2010 Olympics and 2007 World Championships (All-Tournament Team selection) and earned silver at the 2008 and 2005 (All-Tournament Team) World Championships and 2002 WJC tournament.
