The Kings have acquired seven-time 20-goal scorer forward Marco Sturm from the Bruins in exchange for future considerations, Kings President/GM Dean Lombardi announced today. The trade is subject to Sturm passing a physical. Sturm, 32, spent the last five seasons with the Bruins where he compiled 193 points, 156 penalty minutes and a plus-24 rating, while serving as a club alternate captain. Sturm has not played in a game this season, as he?s recovering from a lower-body injury. He is expected to return to the lineup this month. In 855 career NHL games with the Bruins and Sharks, Sturm has accumulated 466 points (234-232=466), 398 penalty minutes and a plus-66 rating. Sturm was originally drafted by San Jose in the first round (21st overall) in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft (by then-Sharks GM Lombardi).
