The Flyers may allow restricted free agent defenseman Braydon Coburn to sign with another team. Philadelphia traded for the rights to coveted free agent Dan Hamhuis and they have 10 days to sign him to an extension. If they do so, the Flyers will likely be pressed for cash to re-sign Coburn. Coburn is expected to get a raise and the two sides appear headed for arbitration. His salary could rise from $1.3 million to close to $3 million if you compare his play with contracts that have been recently awarded. The addition of Hamhuis makes losing Coburn, likely via trade, easier to handle.
