Hurricanes goalie Cam Ward sat out the first day of Canada's Olympic camp on Monday.
Ward, who sat out with back pain, is set to be re-evaluated Tuesday.
He battled back issues throughout the postseason.
"I got some really good treatment [Monday]. I'll keep my fingers crossed that I feel really good and can go out there [Tuesday] and perform at 100 percent," Ward told ESPN.com.
"I can't put a finger on it, why it happened. It just did. It's something I've felt before and it lasted about a week. It's just really bad timing with this camp."
