Peter Mueller has slimmed down this offseason as he aims to bounce back from a "subpar" year. "For sure, and (I think) it's funny," Coyotes captain Shane Doan told the Arizona Republic. "He does, too, and we all probably consider it subpar, but if I was a 20-, 21-year-old, I would have taken 40 points in the NHL any day." Mueller had 54 points in his rookie season, but regressed with just 36 points last year and missed time with a concussion. "It could be a lot of things," Mueller said. "I'm still trying to figure out that myself. The only person to blame is myself, and I'm just gonna respond to that and have an even better year in my third year." He has shed about 15 pounds in offseason workouts. "One of the things I worked on was trying to get quicker and took a couple pounds off," Mueller said. "It's been going good right now and hopefully I'll keep it up. "I'm quicker (at 208 pounds). I can see the difference out there. You move a lot quicker; your feet don't feel so heavy. I've been doing the same weight as last year, so the strength is still there. It was just getting that unnecessary weight off my body."
