Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Jason Chimera will undergo surgery on Wednesday to repair a groin injury and is expected to be sidelined four to five weeks, club General Manager Scott Howson announced tonight. Chimera, who was placed on injured reserve on Monday, has appeared in 44 games with the Blue Jackets this season and tallied eight goals and 13 assists for 21 points with 35 penalty minutes and a +9 plus/minus rating. He has missed 18 games due to injury in 2008-09 after missing just one game in the previous three campaigns. Chimera has registered 73-81-154 and 412 penalty minutes in 417 career games with Columbus and Edmonton.
