The Tampa Bay Lightning have re-assigned center Paul Szczechura to Norfolk of the American Hockey League, it was announced by Executive Vice President & General Manager Brian Lawton. Szczechura, 23, has skated in 18 games with the Lightning this season, his first in the NHL, recording two goals, four points and six penalty minutes. He has been sidelined with a lower body injury since January 13. Before making his NHL debut with the Lightning on December 2, Szczechura led Norfolk in scoring with 11 goals and 24 points in 23 games. A 5-foot-11, 190-pound native of Brantford, Ontario, Szczechura was signed as a free agent by the Lightning on April 24, 2008. He played four collegiate seasons at Western Michigan from 2003-04 through 2006-07, recording 44 goals, 86 assists and 107 penalty minutes in 153 games.
