The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled defenseman Jamie Heward and goaltender Karri Ramo from Norfolk of the American Hockey League it was announced by Lightning Executive Vice President & General Manager Brian Lawton. Heward, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound native of Regina, Saskatchewan, was signed as a free agent during the preseason and appeared in three games for the Lightning this season, recording two assists, before being reassigned to Norfolk. With the Admirals this season, Heward has tallied five goals and seven assists in 12 games. A nine-year NHL veteran, Heward has appeared in 384 career games with Tampa Bay, Toronto, Nashville, Columbus, Washington, Los Angeles and the New York Islanders. He spent last season with SKA St. Petersburg in Russia, skating in 53 games and recording two goals and 17 points. Ramo, 22, has appeared in 15 games this season with Norfolk, posting a 4-8-3 record with a 3.48 goals-against average and a .889 save percentage. The 6-2, 207-pound native of Asikkala, Finland was drafted by the Lightning in the sixth round, 191st overall, at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. In 24 career appearances with Tampa Bay, Ramo has compiled a 7-11-3 record with a 3.05 goals-against average.
