Sidney Crosby sat out his second straight game, unable to play Friday because of a groin injury sustained earlier this week. The 19-year-old star forward took part in the pregame warmup with the rest of his Pittsburgh Penguins teammates but was scratched from the lineup against the New York Islanders. Crosby was hurt during a 5-3 victory in Philadelphia on Monday night, his 100th NHL game. He was optimistic the following day that he would be ready to play against the Boston Bruins, but was ruled out following that morning's skate. Before this injury, Crosby had missed only one other game during his brief career. He played in 81 of the Penguins' 82 games last season.
