The NHL has dismissed the threat of a new Russian super hockey league that has threatened to sign some star players, according to The Associated Press. "At this point, it's not a major concern," NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly said at the conclusion of the league's draft on Saturday. "We understand there's going to be a league. We'll see what impact it has. So far, it hasn't really had a major effect on us." The league extended an offer to Penguins' star Evgeni Malkin. "We still continue to believe that the best players in the world will continue to want to play in the National Hockey League, the best league in the world," Daly added.
