Sabres' center Derek Roy missed practice on Thursday and is day-to-day with a shoulder injury. Coach Lindy Ruff said Roy's injury is "somewhere between a bad bruise and a sprain." Roy, Buffalo's leading scorer with 29 points in 32 games, was hurt in the first period of Wednesday's win over the New York Islanders. Ruff believes Roy was hurt when he fell after colliding with New York forward Trent Hunter in the corner. Roy had treatment on the shoulder Thursday, but his status for Friday's game against Philadelphia is unclear.
