Trying to stop another Red Wings skater charging at him with the puck, Tomas Vokoun accidentally flung his goalie stick. Vokoun never stopped trying Saturday night, which is why captain Olli Jokinen said he felt bad for him after the Panthers' 5-2 loss to Detroit at Joe Louis Arena. Some teammates didn't give the same effort. "When the game was 4-2, I think some of our guys quit playing," Jokinen said. "It shouldn't happen in this league. That's a first-place team, but it's not a lot to ask if you work your back off every single shift and play hard. I didn't see that happen tonight. "That's the scary part. Because if you don't get yourself ready for these kinds of games, I don't know what kind of games you need to get ready."
