Phoenix Coyotes' General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have assigned goaltender Alex Auld to the San Antonio Rampage, the Coyotes? American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. Auld, 26, has posted a 3-6-0 record with a 3.54 goals against average (GAA) and .880 save percentage (SV%) in nine games for the Coyotes this season. On Oct. 25, he recorded his third career shutout and first as a Coyote by making 31 saves in a 1-0 win over Anaheim. For his career, Auld has played in 117 NHL games, compiling a 49-50-2-11 record with a 2.94 GAA and .901 SV% in six seasons with Vancouver, Florida and Phoenix. The Thunder Bay, Ontario native has also posted a 1-2 record with a 2.48 GAA and .892 SV% in four career playoff games. Auld was originally drafted by Florida in the 2nd round (40th overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
