The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled center Ryan Carter from the Portland Pirates, Anaheim?s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). Carter, 24 (8/3/83), collected 1-0=1 point with 21 penalty minutes in five games with Portland. Scoreless in four regular season games with the Ducks, Carter made his 2007-08 debut on Sept. 30 against the Los Angeles Kings in London, England. Signed as a free agent on July 12, 2006, Carter made his professional debut with Portland during the 2006-07 regular season. He earned 16-20=36 points with 85 penalty minutes (PIM) in 76 games with the Pirates, finishing tied for third on the team in goals and tied for fourth in assists and scoring. Carter also appeared in four games with the Ducks during the 2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs, including Game Four of the Stanley Cup Finals against Ottawa.
