The Bruins on Tuesday assigned defenseman Matt Hunwick to Providence of the AHL. A seventh-round pick in 2004, Hunwick was recalled by Boston on Friday and made his NHL debut in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Sabres, playing just over 15 1/2 minutes.
