The agent for veteran forwards Mark Recchi and Gary Roberts said Tuesday his clients are not a package deal, despite each wishing to re-sign with the Penguins prior to the start of free agency July 1. Rich Curran, who represents each player, described talks with Penguins general manager Ray Shero as "positive." However, he offered no additional specifics on negotiations. "I'm optimistic that something will get done," Curran said. "We want to get something done before July 1. But I am also realistic enough to know that I have two clients to take into consideration, and (Shero) has to focus on a budget for his entire team."
