The Blackhawks weren't proclaiming center Jonathan Toews as the savior of the long-struggling franchise when they introduced him to the media Tuesday at the United Center, but it was close. ''It's a great day for our franchise,'' general manager Dale Tallon said. ''It's been a long time coming.'' Added coach Denis Savard: ''Chicago people have been waiting for a player like this to come along. They'll love him.''
