The Ducks announced today that the club has acquired defenseman Alex Grant from the Penguins in exchange for left wing Harry Zolnierczyk.

Grant, 24, appeared in 46 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL in 2012-13. The blueliner earned 20 points with 73 penalty minutes, while pacing team defensemen in points-per-game (.43). 
 
Selected by Pittsburgh in the fourth round (118th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Grant has scored 62 points with a +8 rating and 174 PIM in 125 career AHL games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. 

Zolnierczyk, 25, was acquired from the Flyers in exchange for left wing Jay Rosehill on Apr. 1, 2013. He appeared in nine games with Norfolk (AHL) following his acquisition, scoring 2 points with 14 PIM.
