The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled goaltender Sebastien Caron from the Portland Pirates, Anaheim?s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). Caron, 26 (6/25/80), has played in two NHL games this season (one with Chicago and one with Anaheim). The 6-1, 170-pound netminder, has earned a 1-0-0 record, with a 1.36 goals-against average (GAA) and .935 save percentage (SV%). Caron has also played in 17 games with Portland (AHL), posting a record of 7-6-4 with a 2.34 GAA and a .910 SV%. In addition, he played nine games with the Norfolk Admirals (AHL) this season, posting a record of 4-4-0 with a 4.03 GAA and an .868 SV%. Caron has appeared in 92 career NHL games with Pittsburgh, Chicago and Anaheim, earning a record of 26-47-12. The Amqui, Quebec, native signed with the Blackhawks as a free agent on August 8, 2006. Caron was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fourth round (86th overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. He was acquired with Chris Durno and Matt Keith from Chicago for Bruno St. Jacques and Pierre Parenteau on Dec. 28, 2006.
