USA Hockey will honour Detroit Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios on Monday night for becoming the all-time leader in games played among American players. Chelios surpassed Phil Housley's mark of 1,495 games back on Nov. 24. In his 23rd season, Chelios has collected 936 points (182-754) in 1,540 games during his career. "We're pleased to honour Chris, undoubtedly one of the greatest American players of all time," Ron DeGregorio, president of USA Hockey, said in a release. "He's competed at the highest level for an extraordinary number of years and continues to be an extremely effective player."
