Ben Smith will make his Blackhawks season debut against the Flames on Friday night. Smith, newly recalled from the minors, arrived in Calgary on Thursday and skated for the first time with his team Friday morning. He'll take the place of an ailing Michael Frolik on Chicago's third line. "It was something I was definitely looking forward to or hoping that would happen," Smith said of being called up. "I'm excited to be back and help out in any way I can." Smith was injured to start the regular season after suffering a concussion in preseason. He played nine games in Rockford of the AHL and says he's ready to go. "I'm feeling great," he said. "It's been seven or eight weeks since the injury, definitely feeling ready to go. I did everything I could to get back."
