The NHL returned to Winnipeg with a cold reminder of the challenge that lies ahead, but it did little to dampen the warmth brought on by a massive civic celebration. As the clock ticked down Sunday in Winnipeg's 5-1 loss to the Canadiens, the fans at MTS Centre rose to their feet and gave the Jets a standing ovation that was 15 years in the making. "That's pretty incredible," said forward Mark Scheifele, who played his first NHL game. "In Barrie, when we'd lose, people would be leaving halfway through the second period. Definitely to hear that, to get a standing ovation when we lose, it just shows that we're going to have fans behind us regardless."
