NHL Suspends Coyotes' Jovanovski

Phoenix Coyotes defenseman Ed Jovanovski has been suspended for one game, without pay, as a result of delivering a blow to the head of Minnesota forward Marian Gaborik during NHL game #353 against the Wild Nov. 28, the National Hockey League announced today.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Jovanovski will forfeit $34,759.36. The money goes to the Players? Emergency Assistance Fund.
Jovanovski was assessed a minor penalty for roughing at 19:43 of the third period. He will miss tonight?s game at Chicago and be eligible to return Dec. 1 at Detroit.
