Following tonight?s game against the Los Angeles Kings, the Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club reassigned defenseman Kyle Cumiskey and forward Chris Durno to the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League. Durno, 28, was recalled by the Avalanche on Jan. 17 and played in two games for Colorado, making his NHL debut on Jan. 18 vs. Calgary. Cumiskey, 22, was recalled for the third time this season on Jan. 5. He has appeared in five games for the Avalanche in 2008-09 (no points). Durno and Cumiskey are two of Lake Erie?s top three scorers this season, as Durno leads the Monsters with 23 points (10g/13a) in 39 games, while Cumiskey ranks third with 16 points (4g/12a) in 26 games. Cumiskey?s 16 points lead all Lake Erie defensemen. Cumiskey has been selected to participate in the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic this Monday (Jan. 26) in Worcester, Mass.
