The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned defenseman Jay Leach and center Blair Jones to the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League, Executive Vice President and General Manager Jay Feaster announced. Leach appeared in two games with the Lightning after being recalled on an emergency basis on December 19. The defenseman was signed as a free agent by the Lightning on July 3 of this year. He has played 28 games with the Admirals this season, recording three goals, three assists and 29 penalty minutes. The 28-year-old played 73 games with the Providence Bruins last season, netting two goals and recording seven assists while leading the team with 128 penalty minutes. Jones skated in four games for the Lightning since being recalled on December 14. A 6-foot-3, 210-pound native of Central Butte, Saskatchewan, Jones played 26 games with the Admirals this season, recording six goals, 13 assists and 23 penalty minutes. He led the Admirals in shots with 77 while ranking third on the team in goals and points at the time of his recall. Selected by the Lightning in the fourth round, 102nd overall, at the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Jones made his NHL debut with the team last season and recorded a goal, two assists and two penalty minutes in 20 games. He appeared in his first NHL game on November 20, 2006 against the Buffalo Sabres and scored his first NHL goal against the Los Angeles Kings on February 6, 2007. He made his professional debut with Springfield of the AHL last season, recording five goals and 16 assists in 45 games.
