Red Wings' forward Tomas Holmstrom will miss tonight's game at Minnesota because of an injured right knee. General Manager Ken Holland said Holmstrom was flying back to Detroit on a commercial flight Friday so that he could have an MRI today. Holland said he didn't plan to call up anyone from Grand Rapids. Aaron Downey will take Holmstrom's spot in the lineup against the Wild. Holmstrom was injured in the first period of Thursday's 3-2 loss to St. Louis after he was tripped by Eric Brewer and hit Jay McClement knee-to-knee. Holmstrom didn't return for the final two periods.
