The suspicion in hockey circles is the sudden interest around Peter Forsberg is part of a campaign orchestrated by his father, Kent. Last week a Western Conference team, which isn't Detroit, received a phone call saying Forsberg wanted to play there. The problem was the organization didn't share that sentiment. The gifted Swede, and when he was in his prime he was the best player of his generation, might have value based on the Roger Clemens model -- i.e., playing half the season.
