Unable to find a new home in the NHL, Alexei Yashin is returning to his original home. According to a report by Reuters on Friday, Yashin has signed a one-year contract with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the Russian SuperLeague. A native of Sverdlovsk, the 33-year-old Yashin had the final four years of his 10-year, $87.5 million contract bought out by the Islanders on June 6, leaving him free to ink a deal with any team. However, the 1992 second overall pick of the Senators did not receive an offer to his liking, leaving him no other option but to return to his homeland.
