| 5th October, 2008 - 8:31 pm |  Andrew Perna/RealGM - The Ottawa Senators defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins, 3-1, on Sunday to earn a split of the two-game series the clubs played in Stockholm.
Dany Heatley put the Senators on the board with a backhanded power-play goal in the second period, and followed that up with another score, a power-play snap shot at the beginning of the third, to give his team a 2-0 lead.
Heatley already has three goals through his first two games.
Antoine Vermette added a third goal for Ottawa at the 15:50 mark in the third, before Pittsburgh finally got on the board.
Alex Goligoski scored for the Penguins on a power-play with just two seconds left on the clock. Goligoski was assisted by the tandem of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin on the goal.
Both Daniel Alfredsson and Filip Kuba had two assists for the Senators, who attempted four fewer shots than the Penguins in the win. [READ] |
