The Los Angeles Kings have signed restricted free agent center Jarret Stoll to four-year contract, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. Per club policy, terms of the agreement were not announced. Stoll, 26, was acquired by the Kings with defenseman Matt Greene from Edmonton in exchange for defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky on June 29. In 81 regular season games this past season for the Oilers, he notched 36 points (14-22=36) and 74 penalty minutes. The 6-1, 210-pound native of Melville, Saskatchewan, also ranked second on the Oilers with eight power-play goals and he led the team with three short-handed tallies, which was tied for eighth in the NHL. Stoll also last season won the ninth most shorthanded faceoffs in the League with 133, and he is just one of seven NHL player to have at least a 55 percent faceoff winning percentage the past three seasons.
