Winnipeg forward Vladislav Namestnikov and defenseman Brenden Dillon are recovering from injuries and won't be available for Game 5 against Colorado on Tuesday night as the Jets try to avoid playoff elimination.

The Colorado Avalanche will be without forward Jonathan Drouin for their first-round playoff series against Winnipeg due to a lower-body injury.

Drouin got hurt when he tripped in the second period Thursday against Edmonton. He skated off the ice and didn't return.

Valeri Nichushkin scored twice, Nathan MacKinnon added two assists to break the franchise's single-season points mark and the Colorado Avalanche cruised into the playoffs behind a 5-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night.

MacKinnon wrapped up the regular season with 140 points (51 goals, 89 assists) to top Peter Stastny's franchise record of 139 set in 1981-82 when the club was in Quebec.

The Colorado Avalanche will play the Winnipeg Jets in the Western Conference First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Home-ice advantage for the best-of-7 series will go to the team that finishes higher in the Central Division. The Jets (50-24-6) are second, ahead of the Avalanche (49-25-6).

The playoffs begin April 20.

Winnipeg won all three games against Colorado this season, including 7-0 on Saturday.

Colorado Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen remains in concussion protocol and will miss their game Sunday night against the Central Division-leading Dallas Stars.

It ends his streak of consecutive games at 161, which was the longest on the team. Rantanen's absence is a blow for the Avalanche, who trail the Stars by three points with five games remaining. The 27-year-old Finnish forward has 40 goals and 62 assists this season.
