Brian Burke, President and GM of the Maple Leafs, announced Friday that the club has signed forward Matt Frattin to a two-year entry level contract. The Leafs originally selected Frattin with their second choice, 99th overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He is expected to be in the lineup tomorrow night for the Maple Leafs when they host the Canadiens. Frattin, a 23-year-old native of Edmonton, Alberta was a finalist for the 2011 Hobey Baker Award, which is an annual award given to the top NCAA men’s hockey player. Frattin played 44 games for the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux this season and led the NCAA with 36 goals.
