The Stars, with 14 forwards on the roster after acquiring Jamie Langenbrunner from the Devils last week, placed right wing Brandon Segal on waivers Monday. "We don't want to carry 14 [forwards], and we want Brandon to play, too," Stars general manager Joe Nieuwendyk said. Segal is on a two-way contract, and he makes $550,000 when he plays in the NHL and $130,000 at the AHL level.
