Phoenix Coyotes general manager Don Maloney announced Thursday that the Coyotes have re-signed defenseman Derek Morris to a four-year contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. "We are very excited to have re-signed Derek to a new four-year contract," said Maloney. "He is a talented, physical defenseman who will continue to bring leadership to our dressing room." Morris, 31, recorded 4-25-29 and 37 penalty minutes (PIM) in 76 games with the Coyotes and the Boston Bruins last season. Morris, who was acquired from Boston for a conditional draft choice in 2011 NHL Entry Draft on Mar. 3, 2010 collected 1-3-4 and 11 PIM in 18 regular season games with the Coyotes. He also registered 1-3-4 and 11 PIM in seven playoff games.
