Jussi Rynnas will sign a multi-year, entry level contract with Toronto. Rynnas has let it be known through his agent that he?s made a deal with the Leafs. Like Jonas Gustavsson last season, Rynnas was widely considered the best available free-agent goaltending prospect in Europe this year. Both are listed at 6-foot-3. Rynnas, a native of Pori, Finland, will be 23 next month. He played in 31 games for Assat Pori of the top Finnish league, where he posted a .929 save percentage and a goals-against average around 2.50. ?It was Jussi?s first year as a starter and he was not playing for a strong team,? said agent Allain Roy. ?He has good numbers. It?s been his coming-out year.? Part of the allure of Toronto for Rynnas was Leafs goaltending coach Francois Allaire, somewhat of a rock star among the netminding community. ?It?s a good situation with a three-year contract,? said Roy. ?He?ll get to work with a goalie coach who loves working with goalies who play his style.?
