The Ottawa Sun reports that Hurricanes general manager Jim Rutherford is already trying to unload some of the team's more expensive contracts. Guys like defenseman Aaron Ward ($2.5 million), Joe Corvo ($2.75 million) and Niclas Wallin ($1.725 million) are all being shopped.
