The Flyers defeated the rival Devils 3-2 on Monday night in Philadelphia.
The loss snapped New Jersey's eight-game winning streak and left the team one win shy of tying the NHL record for road victories to begin a season.
The Devils are now 9-1-0 on the road.
"You never want to lose, but we knew that we weren't going to go 41-0 on the road," Zach Parise said. "But 9-0 is pretty good, so we will just try to start it up again in Nashville [on Thursday]."
