Ray Emery didn't have the best of tenures in Ottawa, and he reflected on his time with the Senators recently. The goalie was late for practice, had fights with teammates and lost his starting job. His personal life was also a target, as people claimed he partied too much. "It was like Britney Spears leaving her house," Emery told the New York Times. "It was different. It's the only sport in the city and people feel like they know you. It wasn't fun to leave my house. I felt comfortable at home. Every time you get me in public, people were staring and you know what they were saying." Former Senators coach John Paddock said that the organization did everything they could for Emery. "I just don't think he was in the right place to play the game," Paddock said. "He wasn't prepared to play, he wasn't preparing to play. He wasn't taking the game seriously."
