Chris Chelios is lobbying for a job with the Maple Leafs. Chelios asked coach Ron Wilson if the Leafs were in the market for a veteran defenseman on Monday, according to the Toronto Sun. "He still wants to play," Wilson said. Chelios, 47, didn't have his contract renewed by the Red Wings at the end of last season, but isn't ready to retire. "You can make an argument that he's the greatest American player of all time," Wilson said. "I know some people will say (Pat) Lafontaine and some will say (Mike) Modano. But Chelios is a true warrior, he's been around for all the great battles."
