The Stars recalled goaltender Mike Smith from the AHL Iowa Stars on Friday and assigned center Joel Lundqvist and goaltender Dan Ellis to the minor league team. Earlier Friday, the Stars had assigned Smith to the Iowa team in exchange for Ellis, but Ellis' flight to Los Angeles for the Stars' game Saturday was canceled, the team said. Smith will be the backup goalie Saturday.
