The Los Angeles Kings have assigned forward John Zeiler to the Manchester Monarchs (American Hockey League) and have assigned goaltender Daniel Taylor to the Reading Royals (ECHL), Kings' President/General Manager Dean Lombardi today announced. Zeiler, 25, has one assist and 23 penalty minutes in 36 games with the Kings this season. With the Monarchs, he has eight points (4-4=8) and 29 penalty minutes in 37 games this season. The 6-0, 193-pound native of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, has appeared in 59 career NHL games ? all with the Kings ? and has four points (1-3=4) and 45 penalty minutes. Zeiler signed with the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on February 17, 2007. Taylor, 21, made his Kings/NHL debut yesterday, allowing two goals in one period. Taylor, who was recalled by the Kings on Thursday under emergency conditions, has also played in 23 games with the Monarchs this season, and has recorded a 13-5-2 record, four shutouts, a 2.40 goals-against-average and a .921 save percentage. In addition, he has played in three games with Reading, where he went 3-0-0 with a 2.64 GAA and a .917 save percentage. The 5-11, 179-pound Taylor, was originally selected by the Kings in the seventh-round (221st overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, is a native of Plymouth, England.
