The Carolina Hurricanes have signed their 2007 first-round draft pick, Brandon Sutter, to a three year contract, according to Reuters. Sutter, 19, just finished his third season with Red Deer Rebels of the WHL. He is the son of Brent Sutter, former NHL player and current Devils head coach. "We're excited about signing Brandon," Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford said. "We look forward to his continued development, and watching him work his way toward playing with the Hurricanes."
