Flyers new interim general manager Paul Holmgren says he has the authority to do anything a permanent GM does, from making trades to negotiating a new contract for Peter Forsberg. Holmgren met with team chairman Ed Snider on Monday and came away with a vote of confidence. It's a pretty big deal because if Holmgren does make the correct moves ? which might include doing nothing ? it might go a ways toward having the ?interim? tag removed. ?The way it's always worked around here, Mr. Snider needs to be kept abreast of what's going on,? Holmgren said before Thursday night's game against Atlanta. ?Any moves in the past, he's known what's going on. ?He certainly has the right to say "no, you can't do that.'?
