The Los Angeles Kings have activated forward Scott Thornton from the injured reserve list, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi today announced. Thornton, 36, who suffered a sternum injury during the Kings-Phoenix game on November 21 and missed seven games because of the injury, has two points (both goals) and 11 penalty minutes in 14 games with the Kings this season. The 6-3, 220-pound native of London, Ontario, has 279 points (141-138=279) and 1,431 penalty minutes in 908 career NHL games with the Kings, San Jose, Dallas, Montreal, Edmonton and Toronto.
