Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled left wing Aaron Voros from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL) and has placed defenseman Petteri Nummelin on injured reserve. Voros, 26 (7/2/81), scored two goals and accumulated 14 penalty minutes in six games with the Wild after making his NHL debut Nov. 11 in Colorado. He was originally reassigned to the Aeros this morning. Voros has eight points (4-4=8) and a team-high 46 penalty minutes in 12 games with the Aeros this season. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound native of Vancouver, B.C., was New Jersey?s eighth-round choice (No. 229 overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Minnesota acquired Voros from the Devils for a seventh-round pick on March 1, 2007. Nummelin, 34 (11/25/72) has four assists in 16 games with the Wild this season after posting 20 points (3-17=20) in 51 games with Minnesota in 2006-07. The 5-foot-10, 188-pound native of Turku, Finland, has 40 points (7-33=40) in 128 career NHL games with Minnesota and Columbus. Nummelin was Columbus? fifth-round pick (No. 133 overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
