Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has claimed left wing Todd Fedoruk off re-entry waivers from the Dallas Stars. In addition, the team has recalled goaltender Nolan Schaefer from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL) and has reassigned left wing Aaron Voros to the Aeros. Fedoruk, 28 (2/13/79) was placed on re-entry waivers by the Stars on Wednesday after posting two assists and 33 penalty minutes in 11 games with Dallas this season. The 6-2, 241-pound left wing from Redwater, Alberta, was originally drafted by the Flyers in the seventh round (No. 164 overall) of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. Over parts of seven NHL seasons, Fedoruk has appeared in 365 career games and collected 17 goals and 50 assists for 67 points with 818 penalty minutes. In 19 career playoff games, he is scoreless with 38 penalty minutes. Schaefer, 27 (1/15/80), has been recalled to the Wild three times this season without appearing in a game. He is 3-4-0 with a 2.67 goals against average (GAA) and a .906 save percentage in seven games for the Aeros this season. Schaefer is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound native of Yellow Grass, Sask. He was San Jose?s fifth-round pick (No. 166 overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. Minnesota signed Schaefer as a free agent on July 3, 2007. Schaefer is 5-1-0 with a 1.88 GAA in seven career NHL games - all with San Jose. Voros, 26 (7/2/81), scored two goals and accumulated 14 penalty minutes in six games with the Wild after making his NHL debut Nov. 11 in Colorado. Voros has eight points (4-4=8) and a team-high 46 penalty minutes in 12 games with the Aeros this season. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound native of Vancouver, B.C., was New Jersey?s eighth-round choice (No. 229 overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Minnesota acquired Voros from the Devils for a seventh-round pick on March 1, 2007.
