It appears the sale of the Predators to a group of local investors is close to fruition.
The Hockey News' website reported Wednesday that the group led by David Freeman had struck a US$193-million deal to buy the Predators from Craig Leopold and that the new group had agreed on a revised lease with the Nashville arena.
The deal would keep the team in Nashville at least through the 2010-11 season.
